'Canabalt' - one button mega fun gameplay

'Canabalt' - one button mega fun gameplay

Okay, so previously I posted about the most fun you could have with one hand, but this game is seriously the most fun you could ever have with one finger.

'Canabalt' is simple. You are a little black & white guy running and jumping over black & white rooftops at ever increasing insane speeds with ever more frequent obstacles to avoid. Your goal is to not fall off the rooftops for as long as you possibly can, with only your jump button (X or C) to help you along the way. The scenery and obstacles are randomly generated every time, so there's no memorizing levels, you just have to be sharp with your reflexes!

I played "The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy" a while back and loved it, so I put this video together to show you the best bits and what I liked most about it. There's a few small spoilers, but nothing too much - just enough to show you what you get in the game.

So, a few standout features for me were the artwork (obviously) and the game interface. I usually find it kind of irritating in games where there is a long list of objects down the left side and you have to virtually memorize the list of objects before you can look for them. With this game, the objects are listed in a book at the bottom of the screen which makes it much easier to glance up and down on the fly. There's some other really good interface elements, but I go through that in the video so I won't repeat myself and bore you.
