Emma Lung (Peaches / Crush / Stranded) has been cast in the gothic fairytale Cradlewood.
Cradlewood tells the story of an Australian woman named Beck (Lung) living in Boston with Josh (Ian Somerhalder), the heir of an incredible fortune whose family history is swirled in a legend. The legend follows that a pact was made with a demon that ensures whenever a boy is born into the family, the father is killed. Josh suspects Beck is pregnant, and after strange events occur, he comes to believe he will die if he continues to fall in love.
Producer Michel Shane describes the film as "an American-style 'Pan's Labyrinth' in look and feel," and refers to it as a movie for "kids who have outgrown Twilight but want something romantic and scary."
Cradlewood is the first feature film from Harry Weinmann, a VFX guy who worked on Race to Witch Mountain, Spaceballs and Lifeforce.
Filming kicks off in Melbourne, Australia in 2010.
