The first concept art for Legendary Pictures’ Paradise Lost has appeared online.

The film stars Bradley Cooper as Lucifer and is based on John Milton’s poem of the same name, and follows our anti-hero Satan as he tempts Adam and Eve away from the Garden of Eden (amongst many other nefarious acts).

There's definitely enough drama in the epic source material to give this huge blockbuster potential, but also enough for it to be a crushing disappointment if cack-handedly, erm… handled.

Alex Proyas is at the helm, and we're hoping this one is influenced by his classic The Crow and absolutely nothing like his atrocious Knowing

Expect an action-packed picture, with the battle between archangels Michael and Lucifer taking centre stage.

No word yet on who will play Michael, but you can expect another big name to be thrown into the ring soon.

Alcatraz Sarnoff WIDE 560x278 Alcatraz and Lost Writer Liz Sarnoff Compares the Two and Talks Comic Con

Liz Sarnoff is a familiar name to died-in-the-wool, never-forget-The-Numbers Lost fans as the co-writer of one of the, err, “least valued” episodes, “Stranger in a Strange Land” (the Bai Ling episode) and one of the most beloved episodes, “The Substitute” (the Ben-in-his-sideways-life episode) and many many others – 19 episodes in all. She began in season 2 as a writer and producer and by season 6 had been promoted to executive producer.

Her first trip to Comic-Con was in 2009 for the final season of Lost. She will be returning this year for the first time since then, now as executive producer for Bad Robot’s Alcatraz. She spoke with THR about her earlier Comic-Con experience, and compared Lost to Alcatraz:

THR: What stands out from your Comic-Con experience?
Sarnoff:
I’ve only gone once — for the final season of Lost and it was an amazing experience to see that many fans in one room. The best part was watching fans watch parts of the show. We screened footage from the upcoming season because it was our final season. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were always very big on doing video for Comic-Con. They wandered by the ballroom the night before the panel and the fans went out of their minds; they were completely mobbed. As a writer, you don’t really expect to interact that much with the fans.

THR: Favorite Comic-Con memories?
Sarnoff:
I was with Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who both wrote on Lost and also wroteTron: Legacy. I went with them to Flynn’s Arcade because they had set up an entire arcade and went into the back room where they unveiled the Light Cycle. To be there with them after watching them work on that movie for years and to see that with them was a really memorable experience. … And it’s always interesting when you’re in line for the restroom next to Princess Leia and Stormtroopers.

THR: What’s the best thing a fan at Comic-Con has ever said to you?
Sarnoff:
People talk to me a lot about Deadwood, a fan came up to me once and said, “Why was f—ing Deadwood f—ing canceled?” That’s what I get more than anything. It’s as sad to me as it is to them.

THR: What questions would you recommend fans not ask at panels?
Sarnoff: For Lost, there were a lot of story elements that were around for a long time that and sometimes we’d think we’d have to explain something and the question would linger, because whatever answer we had given was not acceptable.

THR: What makes for a successful panel?
Sarnoff: We’re showing the pilot, and we’ll have Jorge Garcia and Sarah Jones there. I think that speaks for its self.

THR: Are you prepared for the inevitable Lost questions?
Sarnoff: Absolutely. I worked on the show for a long time and there are a lot of people on our show that worked on it: Jack Bender, Jorge Garcia, J.J. Abrams. I welcome that: this is our past and this is our present.

THR: What panel would you stand in line all day for?
Sarnoff:
Battlestar Galactica. That was a great show.

THR: Who would be on your dream panel?
Sarnoff:
Gene Roddenberry. I’m a big original Star Trek fan, so Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, George Takei and all those guys. That’s a panel I’d stay up all night for.

THR: If you were to attend in costume, what would it be?
Sarnoff:
It would definitely be Uhura or Nurse Chapel, one of those great single-piece body suit miniskirts from the original series. (Laughs.)

THR: If you could be a showrunner on any other show, what show would it be?
Sarnoff:
I would love to have done any of the Star Trek sequels.

THR: If you could reboot any show, what would it be?
Sarnoff:
I’ve always wanted to do a female version of The Rockford Files, with a woman living in the trailer.

THR: How does Alcatraz compare to Lost?
Sarnoff:
I don’t think it’s like Lost because the show at heart is a procedural show. We have a story end to our show where we’re going to catch a bad guy every week as well as a really bad guy from Alcatraz, so it’s a very different show. Alcatraz is going to feel like it moves a hell of a lot faster because we have a lot of story to get through.

THR: Any good guest stars you can tease?
Sarnoff:
Not yet but we will have at least one amazing guest star a week because every week one of these guys is coming back.

Alcatraz will premiere midseason on Fox.

bradley cooper

Bradley Cooper is currently in talks to play Lucifer in Alex Proyas’ adaptation of Paradise Lost.

Based on the 17th century epic poem by John Milton, the film is expected to follow the same general plot in which Satan tempts Adam and Eve, leading to their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.

The fall-out from that is war in Heaven between archangels Lucifer and Michael.

This being 2011, Milton’s idea of ‘epic’ is being translated in a modern movie version of 'epic', with Proyas envisioning Lost as an “action vehicle”. Variety also report that the film will include “aerial warfare” and could be shot in 3D.

Though Cooper’s slate is pretty full at the moment, what with The Crow having been shoved his way as well, he’s apparently keen to play the role of Lucifer.

Should we expect to see the A-Team star donning a giant pair of wings in the future, then? Dare to dream...

Da Vinci Code

Dan Brown will be personally adapting his book The Lost Symbol, the third in his Da Vinci Code saga, for the big screen.

Previously, Steven Knight had been hired to write the script adaptation for the third film in the series, but now Brown has taken the reigns.

Neither Tom Hanks – who played Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon in The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons – nor director Ron Howard have yet signed on for Lost Symbol.

But considering their first two films made over $ 1.24bn at the worldwide box office, we’re sure they’ll get some pretty hefty offers to come back.

Lost Symbol sees Langdon unravelling mysteries around the Freemasons during a 12-hour quest in Washington, DC.

top secret WIDE From LOST To Fairy Tales: Top Secret Project With Damon Lindelof Emerges

Former Lost executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have been busy working on a top secret project with Lost creator Damon Lindelof. The duo enlisted the help of Lindelof on developing a “fairy-tale-themed drama series” that they will be pitching to ABC soon.

Kitsis and Horowitz both have an overall deal with the network and if this project gets green lit, then Lindelof will be the series’ consultant. No details are available as of yet on this top secret project save the golden piece of intel that says there will be a female lead…

What do you think this series may be about? What female lead would you cast?

Get the popcorn ready, get the PVR serviced and take the phone off the hook. First, a recap special will kick off the night from 8:00-9:00 p.m. eastern time, followed by the much anticipated two-hour premiere from 9:00-11:00 p.m. After that, Tuesday nights will have meaning again as our lost, then found then lost again castaways return to their regular time slot on February 9th at 9pm ET

I won't bother putting the trailer up since it actually doesn't reveal or show anything about the new season. Word has it that there is so much revealed in the first few scenes of the new season that the producers have convinced ABC to NOT SHOW A SINGLE FRAME before the new season airs. No promo scenes, no photos, zip diddley! The suspense builds!

Here's the very short first teaser for the sixth and final season of Lost.

Be aware that there is no new footage in this teaser, and, apparently, nor will there be any new footage from the final season released prior to the season going to air. Word is the producers have convinced ABC that the new season is so full of twists that to release even a snippet of footage would work against the series. So it looks like the only teasers we'll get will be scenes from previous seasons mashed together. With that in mind, there are actually some fan made trailers on YouTube that are better than this teaser, but you get that. It's still a great idea and definitely has me chomping at the bit to see the new season.

YouTube Preview Image

No exact air date has been announced, although expect it to kick off during January 2010. Then, mid February, after just a four (or so) episodes, expect a two week hiatus as the ABC takes Lost off air to make sure it doesn't compete with the Olympics.
