Darren Aronofsky is everywhere at the moment - with Black Swan opening in a few weeks in USA and the new two-year deal with Fox - and the director has now opened up about his plans for The Wolverine.

This one off Wolverine film will be set this time in Japan, and is based on the Chris Calremeont and Frank Miller’s 1982 mini series.

The script has been adapted by Christopher McQuarrie (Usual Suspects) and will follow Logan when he falls in love with a married Japanese woman.

Cue lots of Samurai fighting with her family to win over her heart.

Aronofsky didn’t have a lot to say about the plans he’s making for The Wolverine as he's still busy with the press for Black Swan.

In the clip below he explains why he wanted to do The Wolverine instead of other projects, such as The Tiger with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Robert Downey Jr. has officially departed Alfonso Cuarón’s long-gestating sci-fi Gravity.

The ambitious but troubled movie, which has bagged Sandra Bullock for its female lead after Angelina Jolie dropped out, will be moving ahead without Downey Jr.

The actor's busy schedule is being blamed, with both Sherlock Holmes 2 and The Avengers on the horizon - but that’s not stopping other studios from attempting to lure the actor in to other roles.

20th Century Fox are currently prepping How To Talk To Girls, which is being described as a Big-style comedy about a nine-year-old boy who attempts to unravel the mysteries of the opposite sex.

Given that a script hasn’t been written yet (nay, a writer hasn’t even been hired), this could be a possible for Downey Jr if the shoot comes after his other commitments.

Meanwhile, the search for a Downey replacement on Gravity begins. Poor Alfonso Cuarón...

Back in 2008 Angelina Jolie replaced Tom Cruise as the lead in director Phillip Noyce's action-thriller Salt.

In Salt, Jolie plays a CIA officer (Evelyn Salt) who a defector accuses of being a Russian spy.  In true Jason Bourne style, she goes on the run using her skills and experience as a covert operative to elude capture, protect her husband, and stay one step ahead of those hunting her (who are convinced she’s aiming to assassinate the president).

Now it seems Jolie is ready to step into another movie exited by Tom Cruise.  Rumor has it that Angelina Jolie is in talks to replace Charlize Theron in The Tourist, a film about an American tourist who goes undercover as a spy to entrap an ex-lover suspected of being a global criminal. Charlize Theron was playing the undercover spy, whilst the ex-lover was to be played by Cruise (since replaced by Sam Worthington).

In both movies, Jolie is an ass-kicker.

Salt hits town on July 23, 2010.  The Tourist is expected in 2011.
