After much back-and-forthing, Warner Bros have hinted they're looking to launch a Justice League film - and soon!

Jeff Robinov, who takes the WB Presidential oath this week, has been a big influence in the industry for some time.

He was, after all, the one who persuaded Chris Nolan to include the Batmobile in Batman Begins.

Now, according to an interview with the LA Times, he plans to see the superhero ensemble take to the screen in 2013.

Whilst this is very exciting stuff, the prospect of a 2013 release may seem a little implausible with The Dark Knight Rises and Superman: Man of Steel remaining the studio's focus until the end of 2012.

Take with a few grains of salt for now, but with The Avengers hitting cinemas next year, a Justice League movie definitely seems more of an inevitability than a possibility.

Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider films were met with either derision or apathy from most movie fans – which is perhaps why the next Lara Croft movie adventure is going for a complete system reboot.

GK Films have just acquired the feature film rights to the Tomb Raider video game, and producer Graham King (The Departed) is planning on retooling the franchise.

The production company have scheduled a 2013 release for the film, which apparently will be an origins story – so no, don’t expect Angelina Jolie to return.

That means that King and co have just over a year to get the ball rolling. And with 2013 a respectable-sounding deadline, they’ve given themselves plenty of time to get this new adap right.

Let the Lara Croft casting rumours commence...

Now this is some cool news. The director/producer of 2012, Roland Emmerich, is working on a sequel - a TV series titled 2013, and ABC might be the network to pick it up.

“The plan is that it is 2013 and it’s about what happens after the disaster,” Emmerich told EW.

“It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating. [2012 writer/producer] Harold Kloser and I came up with the idea and we have the luxury of having a producer on the film who is a big TV producer, Mark Gordon. We said to Mark, ‘Why don’t you do a TV show that picks up where the movie leaves off and call it 2013?’ I think it will focus on a group of people who survived but not on the boats … maybe they were on a piece of land that was spared or one that became an island in the process of the crust moving. There are so many possibilities of what they could do and I’d be excited to watch it.”

Gordon adds: “There’s hope for the world despite the magnitude of the 2012 disaster as seen in the film. After the movie, there are some people who survive and the question is how will these survivors build a new world and what will it look like. That might make an interesting TV series.”

Damn straight!
