‘2013′ the TV Series – A Sequel to Roland Emmerich’s ‘2012′

Now this is some cool news. The director/producer of 2012, Roland Emmerich, is working on a sequel - a TV series titled 2013, and ABC might be the network to pick it up.
“The plan is that it is 2013 and it’s about what happens after the disaster,” Emmerich told EW.
“It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating. [2012 writer/producer] Harold Kloser and I came up with the idea and we have the luxury of having a producer on the film who is a big TV producer, Mark Gordon. We said to Mark, ‘Why don’t you do a TV show that picks up where the movie leaves off and call it 2013?’ I think it will focus on a group of people who survived but not on the boats … maybe they were on a piece of land that was spared or one that became an island in the process of the crust moving. There are so many possibilities of what they could do and I’d be excited to watch it.”
Gordon adds: “There’s hope for the world despite the magnitude of the 2012 disaster as seen in the film. After the movie, there are some people who survive and the question is how will these survivors build a new world and what will it look like. That might make an interesting TV series.”
Damn straight!
This is a damn cool featurette that delves into the visual effects behind the destruction of Las Vegas in Roland Emmerich's 2012. If nothing else, 2012 is going to look spectacular.
Harald Kloser Admits Possibility Exists We Could Be Annihilated In 2012
Posted by Monkey 1 in: All News, Interviews, MoviesIn the following video Harald Kloser, the co-writer, producer and music composer behind Roland Emmerich's mega-disaster flick 2012, explains a few things about what people really think might happen in 2012, and adds that the possibility exists through polar instability we might actually be annihilated (no doubt to the sound of a good music score):
The second trailer for Roland Emmerich's 2012 has been released. It's really just the first trailer re-edited with some cool, foreboding sound and a couple of new clips thrown in the mix to keep trailer addicts satisfied.

Whether you believe in prophecy or not, there's going to be a lot of uncertain people on December 21, 2012 - the date when the Mayan Calendar clicks over to start a new age of life. Will it mean disaster? Will it mean a pole shift? Will it mean the Earth becomes toast under a solar storm? Or will it mean we spend the day freaking out because we haven't yet forgotten the events of Roland Emmerich's 2012?
You might want to answer that question after you watch this five minute clip from the movie, released by Sony to demonstrate to the public that Independence Day has nothing on 2012.

Roland Emmerich may very well deliver the consumate disaster flick with his upcoming 2012.
Based on the generally accepted idea that the Mayan Calendar will end on December 21, 2012, the film follows an academic researcher (John Cusack) who leads a group of people in a fight to survive the apocalyptic events that unfold on the day.
