The movie The Fourth Kind, a title which refers specifically to alien abduction (the fourth type of alien encounter), purports to be based upon real events. But is it?
All promotion for the film, including the trailer, puts forward the notion that the film is a "fact-based" thriller. The facts, as promoted by the film, seem to be:
- evidence of alien abduction were uncovered inadvertently from patients in a sleep disorder study
- the study was conducted by a psychologist by the name of Dr. Abigail Tyler
- the abductions were/are occurring in and around Nome, Alaska
- the FBI have conducted numerous but unresolved investigations of missing persons in the area
If you visit the official website, you won't find any links to any of the apparent "fact-based" evidence. Yes, there are some interesting links to some cool "conspiracy" (I hate that word) style websites, but nothing to corroborate the basis of The Fourth Kind movie.

I did a search to discover the authenticity of the title character, Dr. Abigail Tyler, and discovered an entry in the Alaska Psychiatry Journal and a twitter account: @drabigailtyler. Both relate to viral marketing for the film. The twitter account is clearly a twitter account to promote the film, and certainly not the "real" Dr. Abigail Tyler. The Alaska Psychiatry Journal was only recently registered, in Arizona (not Alaska) and via proxy, and like the twitter account, is clearly not real.
Milla Jovovich, who I love to death, is the lead in the film. In the trailer she announces to the camera: “This film is a dramatization of events that occurred Oct. 2000. Every scene in this movie is supported by archive footage. Some of what you're about to see is extremely disturbing.”
Watch the trailer now:
Unfortunately the archive footage has either never been released or doesn't exist. It is doubtful that, if it is the most compelling alien abduction footage yet recorded, that it could have remained hidden whilst a film is made based upon it and, moreso, that it would remain hidden once knowledge of the film had become public. Since this is exactly what has happened, it stands to reason that the archive footage is also fiction. Though I might add that the film may still be using archive footage from other alien abduction cases that are not mentioned in the marketing of The Fourth Kind.
So what about those missing person cases? Turns out they are actually true and yes, the FBI have been investigating. Whilst some answers have been found relating to some of the missing persons - and bodies found - the circumstances of the cases remain unsolved to this day.
I found this article on the Red Lake Net News website which, since it appears to be a legitimate news item, might corroborate the story. It states the FBI have received 24 cases to investigate dating back to 1960. Of those, all are Natives, seventeen were men, eight were never found, and the rest died under suspicious circumstances. More than half of the missing person's bodies have actually been found with the cause of death attributed to a combination of alcohol and exposure. So it's definitely a mystery, but sounding less and less like alien abduction (and more and more like foul play). In any case, it seems the locals don't seem to think it is aliens causing the problem.
So, in a nutshell, the basis for the film seems to be fiction with a touch of reality thrown in to add to our confusion. But, I think it is safe to say that The Fourth Kind is not a story about an actual event with actual documented archival footage. Instead, it is a very cool and elaborate film that appears to have woven a little fact with a lot of fiction to create a realism that delivers maximum creepiness.
Real or not, I'll be heading to the theater to see The Fourth Kind because it looks cool, and that's all I really care about.

good review. though i think the community needs to be more aware of the history that supports alien encounters.
I think that while it is hard to pinpoint the specific case studies mentioned in the movie, it doesn’t mean that it’s pure fiction.
the movie did state that it was a dramatization of events, meaning there is some hollywood dazzle.
But sightings and abductions are very real with hundreds and thousands of people reporting it, photo evidence, video evidence. and even physical material analysis of objects taken out from from bodies of abductees that had inconclusive results. (materials that were radioactive and not from this planet) How do you explain that?
if you read Communion you’ll find disturbing, shocking evidence and stories from abductees. I watched the screening of the film and got to say that i was highly impressed by the portrayal of the characters and abductees.
fact: it’s frightening and has a great storyline. definitely a must see.
Yes, have read (and seen) Communion. In fact, I’ve seen some pretty incredible alien abduction documentaries that leave little doubt that something is going on (I remember seeing one that involved two different unrelated people who remembered seeing each other, and through the investigation of their cases the two people eventually found each other, which corroborated everything they had been saying for years). Can’t remember the name of the documentary though.
I can’t say if that “something is going on” thing is alien abduction or what it is exactly. The Disclosure Project’s Dr. Greer thinks all alien abduction is fabricated by the government to create mass public hysteria. Others think abductions are via interdimensional beings and not “space aliens”. I can’t say I’ll know the truth until I’m abducted…and hopefully I can learn the truth without a dose of anal probing!
I’m sure The Fourth Kind is going to be good but I’m also certain the ill-informed will also seize upon it to add weight to their argument that alien abduction is all a conspiracy theory. I say “ill-informed” as there are many people who outright dismiss the notion but I find those are people who have never actually looked into the subject.
Any time you take a serious subject, make a fictionalized account of it, then claim that fiction is absolutely based on fact, only to have those facts found to be embellished, disputable, or not real at all, you do damage to the work of those who are attempting to remove the stigma of “conspiracy theory” from the subject.
What I would like to see is for The Fourth Kind official website to publish a complete list of the cases it has drawn from for it’s inspiration. I think that more than anything would not only add to its credibility, but would also probably increase theater ticket sales!
By the way, you mention there exists video evidence of alien abduction. I’ve never seen any video evidence, only videos of abductees stories and people talking. When you consider 95% of people believe the world was created 6000 years ago, I have a hard time believing what most people say, even if they themselves believe it utterly. Would love to see actual video evidence though.

I ditto this insight! There have been documentaries about abductees telling their stories under hypnosis and they are very BORING but fascinating nonetheless for people who want truth and not entertainment. The filmmaker ought to be interviewed. Ive been looking and nothing.. and from his previous film it appears hes definitely locked into the horror genre. I agree that source material would give credibility. Look at the film Touched that works with john macks material and video tapes abductees under hypnosis and his voluminous book called ABDUCTION that almost lead to Mack’s getting kicked out of Harvard of which he was a professor of psychiatry until his death a couple years ago. The description of Touched ought to be here:
___________________
…When Harvard psychiatrist John Mack approached filmmaker Laurel Chiten (Twist & Shout, The Jew in the Lotus, Twisted) asking her to make a movie about encounters with aliens, she thought he was crazy. But after meeting some of the so-called ‘experiencers’ she was intruiged; they seemed rather normal and spoke about feelings of connection and longing for these uninvited intruders to return. She had stumbled into a world filled by people who had been touched by something … and had their lives blown apart because of it. ‘I realized I could not figure out the origin of these bizarre stories, nor could I prove or disprove the existence of aliens. Instead, I wanted to explore the human drama: who are these people, what has happened to them, and why does this distinguished Harvard professor believe them?’…

Fortuantely truth searching and truth finding is not for the folks who clamor for horror and shock value and simple entertainment value. I saw the fourth kind film because I wanted to see HOW hollywood would present this phenomenon. I was hoping that people would become curious and pursue it and read and search out the various resources that are out there.. but what Ive been seeing on the various websites discussing this.. I see nothing of that desire whatsoever. Many of them wanted to be scared shitless and they are pissed off because they werent. Its almost as if they could care less about a phenomenon that at its foundation, its mysterious foundation, could totally undermine the reality we cherish so highly that we are the only ones in the universe. such audacity! I also did not want to see another film that praised the aliens as our savior and neither did I want to see a film that purports the alien invasion as brutally invasive. I sense that BOTH are out there but creating honest ambiguity in films these days isnt a money maker. The dualistic thinking in our culture is very prevalent. We, as humans, need to discern what is truth, what is bullshit, what do we want to believe and what do we not want to believe and pursue the abduction phenomenon as mystery with all of its fears, trepidations and needs for “salvation”… all of it…. all of it needs to be explored.. and for sources check out ALLIES FOR HUMANITY by Marshall vian Summers. He explores the notion that yes they are out there and some are trying to guide us to become more sovereign so we dont get seduced by the ones who NEED our planet for its resources and to use us as their laborers.
I personally sense they are already here… theyve been here for years, for aeons and we are already their slaves and the invasion has already occurred but we cannot see it since we prefer the veil than our own freedom…. But that would make for a more interesting film. It was called The Matrix….. and hopefully ones in the near future….
Aloha, here is something that might be interesting to you, yes! a lot of us are starseeds! http://www.starseeds.net check out books that say “Pleaidian” on them such as “The Pleiadian Agenda” by Barbara Hand Clow she talk about how “star People” have always been here, Earth is not the only plantet with life, to bad most people need that prove to them.
The guy who made the movie was on http://www.coasttocoastam.com also the actress who played Dr.Abigail is from England…The guy who made the movie said it was all made up. BUT!!……That doesn’t mean the Aliens don’t exit, research it! http://www.davidicke.com is telling the world of what he knows. Check out “Ancient Aliens” on TV, thats show is explaining alot of knowledge. check out books by “Zecharia Sitchin” the 12th planet. He really was ahead of his time!…Also a lot of UFO info will be out by this year! Check out: “Alex Collier” he is on http://www.youtube.com + http://www.Starsedhotline.com (lavandar) I meet them both last year and they knows tons of info they both had direct contact with UFO = Pleiadian, Andromenda. Many cultures talk about these Star People…..As most of us know the goverenment hides all this info! Why? for power, control and it would change our History + Religion. Also the Military sign up with the Greys _ Reptilions, which are NOT on our side! so if your ready for the Truth! research it!
http://www.disclosureproject.com Type in words like: Pleiades, starseeds, Reptilian, “DR. WOLF” a ex Scientist + ‘BOB LAZAR” who work with at area 51…..DR.Wolf worked with Aliens there he wrote a book before he died. Bob Lazaer worked on UFO craft.
then they remove him…..cause he question it…..
The Truth is out there!!!
The public has been lulled into believing there are no conspiracies, when the effort itself is a conspiracy. Indeed, there are abductions by alien entities. Those in positions of true power will resort to any deception to ameliorate belief in extraterrestrial intervention in human history. To admit such phenomemnon has validity would also admit there are life forms that are far more advanced and superior to humans and very well may someday call humans to account for their iniquities. Dare I use the word, sins…
yep
If there’s a conspiracy to conceal alien visitation to earth powerful enough to suppress world-wide abductions and close encounters, why is it so bad at stopping mass entertainment products that reveal the presence of a conspiracy?
Since you’re familiar with the ancient astronauts theory popularized by people like Van Danniken, I’d suggest researching the man. When you’re done, ask yourself if a guy imprisoned for fraud is someone you should trust for the truth.
The fact the media has labeled “conspiracy theory” as a negative conotation goes back to the Warren Commission report on the Kennedy assassinations when denying suggestions there were others who conspired to kill the men. Of course there sre conspiracies. If there weren’t, there would be no secret classified operations and security clearences. The conspiracy label is now part of all official denial. One aspect that has been seldom addressed openly, cattle mutilations investigated by professional forensics that conclude something is mutilating cattle and humans with methods not consistant with known methods. Carcasses apear to have been dropped or placed where they were found, without a drop of blood or nearby tracks.
Saw the movie last night and enjoyed it for it’s entertainment value. Some parts made me jump out of my seat and the special effects were creepy indeed. I was interested in learning more so I googled it and came to this website. Although I must admit to being a little disappointed that the movie is not factual, I am not surprised in the least. It was a creative marketing campaign for a clever new movie. I do believe that the writer did some research into alien abduction and took a little bit from what he learned and created this story. I’ve always been a believer in UFOs, aliens, paranormal, etc. and would love to read more. Also really impressed with most of these comments left by intelligent people. Well done!
I watched “The Fourth Kind” just a few hours ago; and found it to be disturbing, because (and I’m sure that it was all planned out to have that effect) I didn’t know for sure if the “real” footage used in the movie was in fact genuine. I’m not the gullible type, or easily misled; but I must admit that they had me going for a bit. When you know that the “real” footage is staged, then it takes away the “shock factor” intended by the film’s makers. I have to say that the fake “real” footage was masterfully done; and was more seemingly real than the infamous “alien autopsy” footage claimed to be real by the man whose holding on to it like it was Kryptonite; and refuses to allow professionals to authenticate it. “The Fourth Kind” was a great spoof; and I’m sure it’ll rake in a lot of dough. I give the spoof two thumbs up for its originality, and effective deception.
although I just watched this movie yesterday, I have to say I was excited when the initial trailer started playing before the movie came out in on the big screen, reason being, I had been researching abduction theory and came across Dr. Abigail Tyler’s account. This was probably around five years or so ago, I cannot remember where I read about it, but the story was very interesting, it dealt specifically with the idea that cover memories were put in place to hide actual encounters that couldn’t be rationally explained by the human brain. The brain fills in the gaps that it cannot make sense out of with similiar things that make sense or are less traumatic. The thing that bothers me is that now you cannot find hardly a shred of nonfiction information out there on the Abigail Tyler account, which if I can recall was not very hard for me to find a few years back. I do agree that when a fact based event is portrayed, or Hollywooded over, it does comeover as full fiction, and if the intent of the films creators was education, this definitely takes away from believability. I would have liked this particular story to be put out in a documentary. It would have done more justice to the story. thanks for reading.
THERE IS A GOOD REASON WHY YOU CANNOT FIND ANY NONFICTION INFO ON THE ABIGAIL TYLER ACCOUNT AT THIS TIME.IT LENDS TO THE STORY’S CREDIBILITY.ALSO THE CREDIBILITY OF THE ACERSION OF THE ‘SPOOK’ INTEREST IN NOME AROUND THE TIME OF ACCOUNT. THE MOVIE MAKERS HAVE INADVERTINATLY ,WHEATHER KNOWINGLY OR NOT, USED A TRUE ACCOUNT OF ALIENS’ RESEARCH OF HUMANITY. THE PEOLPLE ‘IN THE KNOW’ WOULD RATHER YOU PONDER ON THE CREDIBILITY OF ‘IT ALL’ JUST ON THE BASIS OF THE MOVIE CONTENT,WHICH LEADS THE AVERAGE INTELIGENCE PERSON TO ARRIVE AT THE CONCLUSION THAT IT MIGHT BE FAKE. UNLESS YOU BELIEVE ME .SO THE COMPUTER WIZES AT THE ALIEN DEPT. OF THE CIA HAVE STRIPPED THE WEB OF ANY AND ALL CONTENT.AND BY THE WAY, HER ACCOUNT IS REAL AND THERE WAS INFO ON IT BEFORE THIS MOVIE BUT NOT AS POPULAR THEN, SO MOST PEOPLE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT(LIKE NOW!)
Thank you for taking the time to comment on this movie. It is a rather subtle observation. Years ago I moved on from the subject of whether the subject is real or not, and have been involved in studying the behaviors of whom I call the UFO pilots, and their language barriers with us. [If they communicate without words as we know them, then how can that language be carried through our electronic devices, ie. telephones, tv/radio speakers) I've moved on from the subject of verifiable evidence, to investigating what is being communicated within the limitation of the language barriers. It may or may not be cross speices communication, but it is some form of careful communication. I've made conciderable progress in this subject, and wonder if there's anyone else out there who is studying how they are able to communicat, verses how we insist they communicate in order for us to acknowlege they exist. [I'll mark this page in my "favorites" and check to see if you respond appropriately. This subject must disregard so called authorities, and move forward.]
to estra…
to me a most fascinating and illuminating interpretations is “channeled” material from marshall vian summers in my reference above. perhaps that is A way for communication to come through that may be unfiltered by the human intellect. The mystery stays alive by bypassing the intellect. The intellect may not ever “understand it.”
Alien races are just that,– alien. You may as well go into your garden and the first ant you see, try to explain who you are. Would you expect an answer which you, or it, would understand? Your concept of aliens are probably drawn from science fiction you’ve seen or read, when in reality, they are outside of human understanding, in most cases. Many of these creatures are from realms older than the Earth. Not only do they not follow the primative laws of physics, as humans understand they have mastered methods and technologies humans may only just begin to comprehend in a million years from now. Considering this, would you dare guess what are the thoughts or motives?
This is a brilliant response. As I debate the folks that simply cannot believe that any life exists beyond our planet, this is an argument I often use. The questions I most often hear are “Why would they be so secretive” or “why would they have interest in us” or “how could they possibly get here”. Just as a ant cannot possibly fathom why we move about in the way we do, we are developmentally so far behind the alien species that we can only hope to figure them out.
They are visiting us, they have been for thousands of years and they have purpose behind their activities. One day we will understand.
It is refreshing to have read your insightful response amidst
those who are too narrow minded or afraid to admit the possiblity of sentient entities are afoot. I used the ant to human analogy only to epress the concept of the difficulty of different species trying to communicate. I personally have not had an abduction experience but under completely different cirrcumstances, I have recorded the reality of transdimensional apparitions, on several occasions. I have studied the subject of alien life forms all my life and I am convinced they do exist. If you are interested, go this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzRKcxJDa-c
Although this video is a recorded apparition, it is genuine and proves they are part of much greater realms that enteract with our world, and have, since time immorial.
Aloha, I just ran across this after I watch the movie “The fourth kind,” I want to know about this case too, OK here is a little something for you. here is a book web-site I have been reading books on the “pleiadians” and they talk how the “Anunnaki” (bad aliens) the ones from the movie, and how they work through electronic device, check out the book called. “The Pleiadian Agenda” it on the web-site. also here is something is for ya! a lot of us are starseeds! http://www.starseed.net once you take the blue pill, it open you up to new worlds!…Hope this all help!
Gail
Gail, and curious others, there are many types of “aliens”. There are extraterrestrials, trans-dimensional entities, Earth spirits, and time travelers. The TENACITY OF LIFE takes many forms, coupled with evolution, they permiate every realm, on every planet. Earth is certainly no exception.
There are no bad aliens, only those with agendas humans do not understand or recognize. The true alien may have thought processes that are completely outside of human mental frame work. Taken further, they may not have a thought process at all, but use a cognitive ability not based on thoughts. Perhaps an all encompassing instinct refind from thier evolutional developement over time. The universe is billions of years old. Humans cannot judge what is possible, or not, in such a grand scheme based on the present state of primitive and prejudicial beliefs.
I watched this film last night and, not to put to fine of a point on the matter, I found it more than a little disturbing. For many reasons that I won’t elaborate upon, I’ve followed the UFO mystery and alien abductions for more than 40 years. My sense after watchng this movie, which by the way is a good movie if one likes films that give goosebumps, is that it represents fiction with a few facts tossed in to ceate an aura of reality. If the arcive footage shown in this film really existed, I have to believe someone would have been in contact with the Intruders Foundation in NYC, which specializes in 4th Kind cases. The ‘archive footage’ would have been subject to professional image analysis and Dr. Tyler would have been examined by medical doctors and psychologists with years of experiecne dealing with close encounters. Make no mistake: Close encounters do in fact occur far more frequently then people might imagine but the close encounters decribed in this movie bear little resemblance to those investigated by the Intuders Foundation or by the late John Mack of Harvard University. For one thing, abductees have never heard ancient Sumerian spoken by their abductors. For me, that was the give way. Another huge problem was the frequency with which the film’s psychologists employ regression therapy; it’s not a practice most professional psychologist use and when they do so it isn’t used as the film depicts. so enjoy the film but don’t think that it is real.
Here, here!
If the other article noted above didn’t convince you, check out this article in an Alaskan paper:

This flick is definitely going down the Blair Witch road…
Thanks for the link Rich. That article would have saved me a lot of time researching mine! The comments are perhaps even more interesting than the article, and I can see why the people of Nome would be quite sensitive about this issue.
This might be of interest to you:

Hi Lauren, sorry your source is a viral marketing website constructed purely to help convince us that The Fourth Kind movie is real.
The date of that article reads August 3, 2000, yet the date of creation of that article is August 24, 2009. The article you’ve reference, like every other article on that website, has been backdated with fake dates.
http://alaskanewsarchive.com is a viral website for the The Fourth Kind movie.
Where is the boy, her son now? I would to see a interview about this whole thing. he would know.
The son is still estranged from his mother, convinced she was responsible for the girl’s abduction/disppearence. For reasons of anonymnity, all other surviving persons involved in the case refuse to comment.
What bothers me is over and over these movies claim to be true stories and they aren’t. Hollywood needs to quit lying all the time!
Hollywood movie producers claim only to present fragments of true abductions with which they produce a story around. Example: “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, is a mixture of several closely researched cases, mainly; the famous Betty and Barney Hill abduction, Sept.,19-20, 1961. There is another case presented; “Fire in the Sky”, of Travis Walton case, Nov.,5,1975. Whitney Strieber case in movie, “Communion”. These are film attempts to estimate what happened. None claim to be absolute truth, only possibility. There are alien abductions everyday all around the world. You just don’t hear about them.
Well, I think the movie is genius.
I mean hollywood is hollywood, it’s entertainment and controversy = entertainment.
I don’t think the movie is lying about anything because it is based on true abduction stories and sightings.
it does say DRAMATIZATION of events, meaning it’s not wholistically true. so i don’t know why every one is so excited to debunk things.
that ADN news article does JUST THE SAME as the movie, garnered alot of attention trying to disprove something.
mentioning that it’s not even filmed in NOme, how does that bring any “fakeness” to the movie??
we don’t call action scenes and special effects fake, do we?
I think it’s part of the hollywood magic, and we buy it, love it, and we will all definitely watch this movie. I know I will
I’m completely unexcited to debunk the movie. The movie might say its a dramatization, but it also says it includes REAL footage integrated into the dramatization. My desire was to experience the evidence of the real footage, not debunk it. Unfortunately, it debunked itself. Finding out its faked is disappointing, not exciting.
I screened the movie last night and was impressed with the movie as a movie… however, the director pushes the claim this is a real story.. he interviews the ‘real’ Dr. Tyler throughout the movie and shows ‘real’ footage from the studies (if there were any)… the archival footage were simply home movies that could have been shot by anyone, anywhere, anytime… there is not much to really debunk because there are no facts supporting any of these stories, people, or studies… plus the ‘real’ Abigal Tyler isn’t very convincing as a non-actress… plus she looks really messed up… but beside that, it was an entertaining movie.
Jake, I’m with you 100%. I was lucky enough to screen the movie tonight and the interview footage of the real Dr. Tyler was unconvincing, mainly because the woman looked simply ghastly!! (I mean who allows themselves to look like that ON CAMERA?) Her pasty skin color (okay, I know, it was makeup) made her look like she was near death and her long, gaunt face and hair was just horrific to look at even before she started squealing. It was pretty scary to imagine and anticipate what sounds could come out of that mouth once the movie really got rolling. The “real” footage was just a bit over the top to believe as genuine.
Even so, the movie was a lot of fun to watch and the scariest parts were designed for the ears and not so much for the eyes.
Oddly enough, your comment makes me want to see it more
Well how was the woman suppose to look after losing her husband, then her daughter and son???????????? She looked depressed and like she has suffered an awful lot.
While the movie was playing, The black and white footage that was stated as’ Actual footage right above or below it while it was playing of a man shooting his wife in the back of her head, Killing his kids and then killing himself’ and other parts of the movie that also stated it was actual footage,How can anyone say this if it’s not true, I mean, Did you see the mouths on these people? When they were in there sleep state and screaming’ There mouths were oblong and way larger than an actual human mouth, Not to mention the one guy hovering above his bed and his back being snaped like a twig’ Was that all a lie? or are we completely missing the truth and not seeing the forest for the trees? did the doctor herself not hurl over the couch she was sitting on when she started screaming? I was able to watch these things frame by frame, (The best way to cover up a truth is to have lies added)
I appreciate the article and the discussion–thanks! I’d done a Google search to see if I could find any facts on this story, and found your website. I’m disappointed but not surprised to see that most of it is marketing. And I agree this sort of thing, while good for generating buzz and movie revenues, does nothing to remove the conspiracy-theory label from the abduction phenomenon.
Well everything about the movie maybe fake but who’s to say that is hasn’t happen to someone people need to remember that the solar system is way bigger than just our “planets”
What does interest me is the purported “fact” that 80% of the so called alien abductions are of Native Americans. I personally don’t believe in alien abductions but if they are real I hope the heck I’m never abducted.
Since I have no evidence to disprove them, I refuse to “not believe” in alien abduction. But, that doesn’t also automatically mean that “I believe” in alien abduction. Instead, I’ve read and seen a lot of evidence to indicate something is going on, be it alien abduction or otherwise (Stephen Greer, the renowned Dr. who was responsible for the ‘Disclosure Project’, writes in one of his books that I read that alien abduction is actually a conspiracy designed to convince the masses that aliens are the enemy). Not saying Greer is right either. Just suggesting there are other possible explanations perhaps? Since I don’t have the answers, I am open to finding out the truth behind the phenomenon.
One thing I definitely believe in is the existence of Aliens. Whether they are present on Earth now or not I can only guess, but there seems to be plenty of evidence to suggest they are here (whenever I think about such evidence, the footage of flying saucers hovering around the broken antenna being deployed by the Space Shuttle always comes to mind). Even on what I consider the “low probability” that they aren’t here, there are too many planets that exists for them not to be out there somewhere, in some form.
I’m not sure about the truth of the statement that 80% of alien abductees are native american, however, a quick search of the internet shows that many researchers have found that to be the case in their research. I’d like to know if that’s a universally agreed upon fact amongst alien abduction researchers worldwide, rather than just American.
Hi Ya All!
I JUST saw a preview for the movie for the FIRST time about 2 hours ago.
**** PLEASE Do NOT read any further – if Ya have not seen this movie or if Ya don’t want to know TRUE things about where this movie is set!! ****
Believe me or not – I do live IN Nome. I have lived here a long time, since ’90s & yes, was living here during that time the movie is to be SET in.
Apperantly, I don’t leave my Igloo enough to know about these things??
We do NOT have trees here, if we do have some scattered ones, its only cause someone brought & planted them AND they would ONLY Be evergreens ( Christmas tree type ) SO, the short preview I saw was totally wrong – …. a lower 48 type tree with green leaves on it IN October HERE?? so Silly! Not to mention, NO SNOW on the ground, lol. Our winters here are from Oct till may! Also, Dang – those sure are some fancy houses on the preview! – Could someone tell me where the Owl was to have landed outside of people’s windows?
I have no clue when this movie will be OUT here. We do have A movie theater here ( now ) – That plays one or two movies at time, that changes most every week. It might take a few months for it to be here. I am SO NOT trying to prove or dis prove about the story line for this movie. I do know of a handful of people that what they call ” missing ” – I am even related to someone who is ( I am guessing ) one of the 26 people missing. I can’t say for certain what happened, that person went missing on a hunting trip OUTSIDE of town,With others. Please keep im mind, that number of people they say that are missing dates back from the 60s till NOW.
I have NO idea if these is like the Blair Witch movie.
What I DO Know is that for sure that the 26 people they call missing – ALL of their Family & Friends prob. don’t need it thrown back in their faces & having it bring up hurt feelings. That goes for here & ALL of everyone that has had lost someone they Love.
Well, thats all I have to say about that. Again, that was just part of what I feel about it all, believe me or take it with a grain of salt BUT PLEASE Everyone who read this all: Take good Care of each other & Tell the people in YOUR Life that You LOVE Them – weather they are furry or non-furry ( meaning a Pet or Person ) & If Ya able too give them a HUG & THANK Them!!
God Bless & HUGs All!
Apparently there are trees in Nome. If you recalled the main character flying her plane over what was where she lived (Nome?), there are many trees on the outskirts where the home was located. Your excuse families of the disappeared should not see this movie further indicates unanswered questions need to be addressed.
Our propensity to believe hype and misinformation in all facets is the truly alarming aspect of this story.
Orson Wells et al with War of the Worlds still did it best.
the alledged “missing persons” as any northern clime rural police investigator will inform you is par for the course when taking into account addiction issues, weather exposure and limited search & rescue manpower (c’mon city folk..what do you think happens to all those bodies out in the wild over time, nature provides her own recycling)
The hollywoodization of the story is to be expected, but to misrepresent the location, indiginous populous and create a campaign of golorified misinformation is irresponsible.
I find the storyline very reminiscint of the work of Bud Hopkins with his alledged transcripts of hypnotherapy regression “alien abduction” cases (which is a dcocumented phenomena where the veracity of reporting sources is not in question)
And as far as referance to Striebers “Communion”.
“Wolfen was a much better piece of fiction from this gentlemans imagination or delusionary beliefs.
Cool movie n marketing ploy though.
I saw the movie and went searching to see if I could find out the truth about this film. Thanks for the review although I am not sure it cleared anything up for me. Has anyone thought perhaps some of these people could be suffering from night terrors? I have had them all my life and they are very real.
If the events of this story are nothing more than a fictional ad campaign, those involved–milla jovovich, elias koteas and everyone else–should be held responsible. As one comment above relates, real people have gone missing in Nome and those who manufactured the apparent lie represented by this film are using them and their families for profit. That is disgusting. They are also demeaning the real stories of people who have had unexplainable experiences. I hope a real “Sumerian alien” abducts them all to a scary place.
Here is my story. When you read it, you’ll understand why I’m a little upset.
At the age of 5, I lived in Southwest Washington, in a remote area, with my parents and sister. Soon after moving to this location, I started having an encounter with something I called “the owl”. It would come into my bedroom and take me out of my bed (I could see it at the end of the hallway leading from my bedroom and I could distinctly feel it grab me by the ankles and pull me out of my bed). Where did I go? Like the people in “The Fourth Kind” movie, I’m not exactly sure. I can only remember being in a sort of lucid dream-state in a strange place and surrounded by people I did not know. As you can imagine, this was very disconcerting for me as a small child–that is, the feeling of being away from my parents and being in a nightmare I couldn’t get out of. Unlike the suggestion of the film, I was not “probed” or oddly examined by aliens. Whatever it was that took me out of the bedroom always seemed like an owl to me. Of course I was afraid–I remember begging my dad to give me a knife so I could fend this thing off. However, I don’t remember being terrified to the point that the movie characters were portrayed.
These encounters or whatever they were stopped very suddenly when a dark-haired woman appeared in these lucid dreams and told me she was there to protect me. I have no idea who she was supposed to be.
So when I heard of this film, I was obviously compelled. After seeing it, I was skeptical of the footage (as anyone with half a brain would be), so that’s when I started googling and discovered it was all an apparent hoax.
My story is not a hoax. I’m not sure what it was–night terrors? encounters with other entities? I have an open mind. But perpetrated hoaxes such as The Fourth Kind only mean to denigrate and take advantage. There should be some kind of legal responsibility.
@Meryl
It sounds like you had an out of body experience (even if you never saw yourself “outside” of your body) It happens to a small percentage of people. It used to happne to me from the ages of 5-7. It was very real, and I always “thought” I was awake when it happened. I never saw an owl or any people, but I floated around and it scared the crap out of me.
Maybe the “Owl” is symbolic of something? Could this woman be an guardian angel?
Also you made me think of something that happened to me when I was 17. It was christmas eve and everyone was asleep. It was around 2 or 3am, and I was unable to sleep. I used to have insomnia all the time.
I had just put out a cigarette when I noticed something moving out the corner of my eye. When I looked up from the couch I was laying on, there was a red orb bobbing in a circular motion in the living room window. Our home was a rased ranch which made our living room very high up from the ground, so it was impossible for someone to be standing there unless they had a high ladder. T
The orb then started moving slowly and erratically. I suddenly was unable to move. I don’t know why, maybe I was frozen with fear. I had this thought in my head like this thing was looking for something. The way it methodically went to and fro was simmalar to someone walking with a flashlight searching for something, except it was red and there was no visible beam behind it. I started to feel like it was a probe. At any rate I couldn’t move or wouldn’t move. It couldn’t have been a car, or even a person because it lasted for 2 hours. I know because I layed immobilized in fear of it “seeing” me. Maybe it was looking for something? Maybe I am crazy, which is what my boyfriend thought. lol. NE ways you made me think of that with your story.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The purpose of this movie it is to direct people’s attention from what is really going on. What happen to these people is real and it happens to people all around the world. But I don’t think that “aliens” are real. Well they are but not what people think they are. There is something out there deliberately plotting to deceive people. This plot has been in place for many years now and this type of deception is one of many forms that they have.
I have been conducting “light” research on UFOs and abductions for over 25 years. I was hoping the movie would shed some light on the disappearances in Nome. At first, reports pointed to a serial killer targetting Native residents, then the switch was made to consider alien abductions. Sure, there were lights in the sky and unsubstantiated reports of sightings, but I haven’t read about the heavy hitters going to Nome to investigate.
As for the movie, I didn’t enjoy it as I so wanted to. I mean, Milla Jovovich was the star. I totally enjoy her movies, but it must have been a stretch to portray this doctor with emotion. I was intrigued by the Sumerian artefacts but it was never explored. They never thought to show the videos, as bad as they were, to the Sheriff. Talk about abuse of power.
I cannot believe that in 2000, we still had such skeptics who refuse to accept the possibility of alien contact. There is so much proof at that time that this Sheriff should not remain unconvinced.
This is the beginning of reality TV being made into movies. It started with Blair Witch, then Paranormal Activity, now this. All of them giving the impression that they are “factual”. Be prepared to see more of the same as time goes by.
This is just another twist on the old Blair Witch Project idea. The subject matter itself, as a horror movie, can not really hold anyone in suspense, so the solution to that problem is to claim it is real, even if it is fabricated. Ditto the Amityville Horror. What made that movie a hit, was the narrative that it was based on a real haunting. Turns out, the story was fabricated. All subsequent owners in the last 30 years report nothing.
As far as the topic is concerned, well, the theme of being abducted from your bed goes back to antiquity. In days gone by, we blamed it on demons, or the Hag. Today, in a more secular society, we now blame it on space aliens who visit us in our sleep. We have just replaced one bad guy for a more modern, secular version.
Sleep paralysis is the basis for most of these claims of succubus attack or alien abduction, which is why most of them happen in bed. Google Sleep Paralysis. It is a fascination subject. If aliens really wanted to abduct us, they wouldn’t wait until we were sleeping. They would come to our offices. lol
Tookie,
I went to see the movie the fourth kind, this evening. Since I do believe some people have been abducted by beings from other planets, I truly enjoyed it. However, I am very disappointed to hear the film is a fake.
Since you live there, was there really a doctor by that name? if there was, did the child really disappeared?
T
I would say true. The government is never going to acknowledge Extraterrestrials because it would create panic and cause the stock market to crash. Not to mention that Morena Baccarin would need to go into hiding.
UFO conspiracy theory
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFO_conspiracy_theory
Hi Again All!
Hey Terra! – Sorry, I know Ya asked a few days ago, so I hope my answers help a little bit, atleast?? I am really NOT sure – about if there was a doctor here ( or visited here ). I am NOT sure where I had read it, but – I did read there MIGHT have been a doctor by that name here OR somewhere in Alaska at one time. But IF that was a famous or semi-famous Doc, we prob. would have heard about them being here. This is a Very small & basicly isolated town. Since I have lived here, there has been only a handful of ” famous ” people been here or through here. I prob. not a good person to ask, BUT if I do hear around town if she was, I’ll reply again. I don’t GaGa over famous people. When I was a waitress YEARS ago – I was told after the fact that I had waited on a big group of people, that one of them was one of the stars from the movie: A Fish Called Wanda. – I still don’t know which one he was, LOL. All I knew was they weren’t Nomeites & I thought they All were Very Nice People! I am pretty sure that it would have been the BUZZ around town if that Doc was here at one time. People talked & talked a bunch about when Leslie Nielsen and Steven Seagal came here.
As far as the other question Ya asked – about if there was a child that disappeared, again NOT totally sure – BUT prob. NO! Well, not from Nome – But MAYBE from somewhere near here? – Still not even sure about that one. I have lived here a long time and only know of 2 people they call missing. I even asked my Hubby ( who has lived here MOST of his life ) & he also said there was never a child missing from here that he can remember.
Again, I have no clue when or IF that movie will be in the theater here. So, I have no clue of anything about a missing child. When & if I hear of anything that I may have not known about – I’ll post again.
I sure hope that helps a bit!
If You or anyone else wants to know anything I might know about, Please ask! I’ll do my best to answer!
OK, Please Take CARE everyone!
God Bless & HUGs 2 Ya All!
I read through all the comments, and am really quite relieved to have the movie disproved. I’ll admit, the images really affected me on a deep level. I was disturbed and couldn’t sleep the night I saw it.
I am upset the movie claimed a factual ‘documentary’ style, because for people who are interested in the reality of the subject matter, it’s a wasted movie ticket. But, was it entertaining? Yes.
I choose to believe the basic theories out there; there are too many coincidences in the sightings and experiences people have reported for there NOT to be something going on. I think that’s pretty obvious. It helps to have someone close to you (like family) describe their own experiences- you can swallow it a little better if you know that person isn’t telling the story with alterior motives (unlike hollywood).
That person for me is my 72 year old grandmother, the most humble, no nonsense person I know. We live in a rural area, and she said when she was about 40 she saw a craft (typical bowler-hat appearance with lights) move horizontally through a recently-mowed cornfield. She told me the story, then quoted “You know the strangest thing of it all? I didn’t think to tell anyone about it until 2 months later. It was like, I forgot all about as soon as I saw it, and I had the hardest time remembering the whole thing”
I realize you don’t know my grandma, and everyone has a story, but it was enough evidence for me. Good luck to all of you in your personal searches for truth.
I just saw this movie last night and have searched all day on the internet today to find some kind of truth about it. I’m no expert on this but maybe just because the docs name doesn’t check out might be because that’s not the real name-if this is true? It did say in the movie that they changed the names and professions of the people in the movie to protect them. I think there is something bigger than us out there, to me that’s god, we can’t explain everything that might happen and honestly it might be a good thing we can’t! And I read all the comments and the one with the one with the grandma seeing something and then forgetting it, I know if I saw some kind of alien activity or what not I would def want to forget about it too! But the movie was really good and now if it is true I’m not quite sure I would want to know that, being something like that could happen to anyone anywhere in the world, that would just be one more thing to worry about to me!
in the deleted scenes the first deleted is actual footage of the Tommy family murder suicide… LOL… Listen closly to the first seconds… ACTION action, enter dr. Abigail.. what a load of S#IT…
I got to see the movie only this week when I rented it on DVD. I was expecting to see just another Sci-Fi send up from Hollywood, full of CG imagery. What I saw was a VERY compelling semi documentery that corobborated much evidence I have studied for many, many years. Although I saw what appeared to be visible gliches in the alledged actual footage, namely, the way the subjects mouth was opened beyond physical limits. Just as this was not addressed, neither was the apparent levitations. If you knew what I know, you would not dismiss the movie’s claims so easily. They seemed to selttle for mentioning severed vertebrae after the regression. My interest was peaked when the researcher translated the voices on the recordings as being closely related to Sumerian linguistics, a long dead language spoken nearly 6 thousand years ago. Ancient stone tablae have petrographs of space vehicles and apparent alien life forms communicating with humans. Whether you choose to believe there are, and have been, highly advanced civilizations that came to this planet (and still do) becomes a matter of what your mind can accept as possible. Yes, there are conspiracies. If there were not, secret military and intelligence classifications would not exist. The US Congress is presented with approving “Black Projects” (super secret programs) appropreiations every year. Even they are not told where or what for, these $billions are spent. There have been whistle blowers that ventured to expose certain strong cases on UFO abductions but these people almost certainly come up missing under very strange circumstances. The victims died in unusual ways intentionally as if those who dispatched them wanted to send a message to others that may feel the truth must be told…
This movie and other movies like this one plays on people, the weak minded..
Do I believe in a hoaxy film about alien abduction? Nope!! Why do we seem to hear
About abduction and seeing aliens?
This movie may be good to watch but its so sad that we believe in something
So small..entertainment is nothing no more what this movie is…
If you believe in green little men then this is the movie to go see…
We are hearing about it more because more people are seeing stuff in sky…and filming it…
I have to say after watching this movie I was very tripped out. I’ve never had an actual -fear- of aliens and alien abductions before seeing it, only an endless intrigue in finding out about them. It had me freaked for several hours and I made sure to wake up before 3:33 tonight, pretty much shaking in my boots (but no I don’t sleep with boots on, or any shoes for that matter!) I found this website and I was relieved to find out that it really isn’t as true as they say it is.
For some reason I found it hard to believe that someone wouldn’t have a punctured lung or broken shoulderblade after getting probed in the back as the character Abigail was, and leaving only a red mark that looked more like a burn than anything else.
I’d realized this entire movie was pretty far-fetched seeming… but I’d still been sort of afraid to sleep thinking it was actually factual. Thanks for helping me sleep at night.
A very-very interesting responses about this movie. I really enjoyed reading it from the 1st to the end of the responses.
I’ve watched the movie and what can I say about the movie is it was a brilliant movie! Why? Well, to me because it can make our mind wonder and wonder even more about our little world that exist in infinitely unknown universe. We know so little about our own world aka earth, let alone the universe. Imagine the possibilities! We humans in nature are a very curious species, well, at least for me it is. =D
It is recommended to watch The Fourth Kind movie, at least once, and just enjoy the movie without any skeptical feelings, let your mind open wide and begin to wonder. But, don’t wonder too far, because it can drive your mind crazy!
And lastly I want to share a quote that makes my life around me more mysterious and interesting,
“As for me, all I know is that I know nothing.” – Socrates
We are never too old and too young to learn something new! Living is to learn and appreciate, not just to drink, eat, and die! =D
Only the truly gullible could ever believe this story. That there are people who actually believe this crapola is what’s REALLY disturbing.
This story – and the subsequent movie- are just another lame attempt to fleece a public all too willing to believe in the supernatural.
Epic fail of a movie.
Another Blair Witch Project. Good movie though
Saw the movie last night & the disturbing part is that it tries to pass off pitiful actresses (Dr. A. Tyler) as real-life people seriously trying to research bizarre events and reach a scientific conclusion about their cause. In the end, although I believe there may well be people experiencing alien abduction, the film makes all those who may have TRUE experiences to share about alien encounters less viable as this film was a total sham. I think the only people being abducted are the viewers of this film. If there is vindication for real abductees I hope the aliens themselves saw the film & are planning to abduct the cast, crew & all involved in this hoax. Hopefully, there will be film footage for this sequel….
Hello, everyone i just wanted to comment on something some people said about the comparison between men, ants and aliens…well first off all ants do recognize and might even understand what we are doing, you are not in an ants mind so how should you know, they sting and bite you just the same and except humans just like any other life form in nature and the cosmos. i guess people should forget about aliens and rather call them beings from the other side, the spirit world. look at mothman for example.
Saw the movie last night…keeps you nervous and on the edge of your seat. True or not, this is one of the creepiest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s the first movie to actually give me chills (no joke). If you like suspense and tense movies, this is the one to see.
As for aliens…anything’s possible. I love learning about culture and past civilizations and the cave drawings and paintings shown in the movie really do exist & have been studied for decades. Nobody knows what many of them mean. Alien or not; if they’re anything like in the movie, I don’t want to meet them. ET’s go home!
Hi people,
First of all, i loved the movie. This was true entertainment at its finest. So everyone calm down and relax. Hollywood is doing its job finally, and entertaining us. Second, if there is life out there it a personal belief. I want to believe but need some proof like an alien sitting in front of me. Until we know the truth all we can do is imagine and think. I think this movie was very interesting because it does make u think. If aliens are true or not we will never know.
I would say one of these days “we” (the human race) will know if “aliens” or more accurately “non-earth life forms” do in fact exist—-it might be tomorrow or a thousand years from now if the human race survives and finally does make it to the point that we actually come to develop some way to travel in space or time or is is spacetime?
One day–”they” will either finally reveal themselves or we will find our way to their worlds in our own or in other dimensions.
Charlotte Milchard is an actress…thank god cause the movie freaked me out!!!!!
Charlotte milchard is Dr abigail tyler!!!!!. Not real footage…
The actor of the “real” footage of Dr. Abgail Tyler is Charlotte Milchard. http://www.charlottemilchard.com
I thought I had seen the person playing the “actual” Dr. Tyler (actress Charlotte Milchard) in some other films—thanks to those who found this info on her.

I’ve read about half of the comments and not all of it. I find the movie helps us try to understand the possibilities of what may actually be happening and has happened for many years. The sumerians are one of the oldest known documented civilizations. It makes u wonder If such a civilization has existed so long ago why would we know so little about them? History is recorded and passed on to later civilizations who are left to ponder about them. But the gap of other civilizations that may have occured and have to our common knowledge is quite huge. I find it very much possible that there is a civilization out there far more advanced than us that could be monitoring us. The Sumerian Gods and there stories i found rather interesting. Really now can u not agree that our generation has not pondered and are in someways trying to stretch our existence farther than that of Earth. I believe it is not impossible at all for this to have also been true for an earlier civilization and that it may be possible that they have infact achieved such things. I also found it IMPOSSIBLE to believe every civilization before us was wiped out due to natural causes. War between them is possible seeing how we have that capability somewhat with our nuclear technology. But to believe no1 survived? Nope nope I don’t buy it. I have a great interest in being a subject for research under meditation. Because i have done things thought to be impossible under such states and have witnesses of it. But for some reason I can’t record it something inside me won’t allow it when i tried to film this phenomenon to put on youtube to show people results of what true zazen mediation can do. A voice inside me said,”U know this is being recorded righ?” Than i felt a entity step out of my body and walk away. I have many occurrences in my life that cannot be explained by saying that All the things i see and experience are due to my mind. Because if that is true than why are others who are not influenced by my way of thinking seeing some of the impossible feets i seen done before my eyes and some done by myself. I want some serious research done on meditation with logical and spiritual minds alike. I know i will be a great subject.
It seems you are on the verge of some realization in regards to connecting to your higher self. Except for the time frame, your assumption about older civilizations are valid. Sumeria was actually one of the last societies whose culture extends back to the far older order which technologically surpassed anything known today. We are clumsily emmerging from another dark age from which war and death dominates a previous mindset of greatness civilizations today can only imagine. Atlantis, Lemuria, Rama were were the high cultures from which interplanetary travel and advanced sciences of the Zodiac and Alchemy were well known and practiced. There was a time when the ancient wizards knew how to tap into the Universal Consciousness that holds all wisdom as archival memory. Man, being flawed, misused this wisdom and was destroyed by other entities they called gods. This scenario has been repeated over and over, going back several million years.
Michael: I do not disbelieve what you say about your abilities to do otherwise “impossible” things during meditation. However, can you be more specific about the things you can do? I think it is awesome and would love to explore these things in myself. I do believe that we are capable of far more than we now accept. What form of meditation do you practice? Do you have a mentor? How did you hear of it? Etc. I would LOVE to hear your story and more about it, please.
As for the movie, The Fourth Kind, I had the pleasure of watching it on DVD this week. I approached it as nothing more than a movie–not a documentary and not a true story–just a movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it! People, this was never meant to be a documentary and was not advertised as such. IT WAS A MOVIE!! And, yes, it did make me begin to question its premise, that is, alien abductions. I don’t believe nor do I disbelieve, so I am wide open to learn. So, if you have not seen The Fourth Kind, rent it, pop some popcorn and watch it with a friend. I could not turn the lights out after seeing it! Freaky!!!
P.S. The marketing and the presentation of this movie–unique and compelling.
Everything in the movie is true after saying the word that the creatures had said i have not been able to sleep
Hi Ya Samantha & Everyone who is reading this
I have posted 2 times already & saw what You wrote today Samantha – PLEASE don’t worry about what was in the movie that is making it so You can’t sleep. Believe it or not we just have not have time to rent this movie yet…. maybe someday
I think it would annoy us more than anything, cause of all the stuff i put in the earlier posts.
PLEASE try to think of it in theses ways & PRAY to bring Yourself some comfort! – OK, 1st the movie was filmed soooo long before it was in the movie theaters. It has been out on DVD for so long now also – Just cause You didn’t watch it until Ya did it doesn’t mean the things they filmed didn’t already happened! – What I mean by that is weather people think it is real, fake or in the middle – it all was filmed & DONE with by the time You watched it.
Again, I LIVE IN NOME! I have lived here for many years. Nothing is going on – meaning I have not heard of anyone being swooped up by anything.
Ok, well I hope that brings Ya some comfort to be able to sleep! If You or anyone else has a question we might be able to answer about Nome – Please post it & we’ll do our best to answer Ya!
PLEASE Take CARE & GOD Bless!!
My immediate impression of the real Abigail Tyler was that she was an actress. I kept having to remind myself that she was supposed to be the real Dr. Tyler.
pfft..i think its real
^^^ I’m what you would call a boneafide “star child” and I was born of human parents. I’ve been here my entire life and have only one brief visit of my God which consisted of 13 minutes and 23 seconds. This was an appointment time which I deliberately and willfully recorded against his will. I have documented this visitation and intelligent conversation with my “God” so to speak of and have been contacted a second and third time with the instruction to never divulge it to the human race.
We are real. We are among you. Believe what you want… it does not matter to anyone.
The only difference that would matter for people is to accept the truth and factual evidence that God does exist. The relevance matters, because it is portrayed as aliens being our God. Such a ludicrous thing cannot be true at all. For the only purpose to define God, you must show the logic proof of his existence in human logic and thought. Any sentient being can claim to be whatever they wish… But I ask you to ponder the fact for a minute. Would God behave this way?
You have likely heard that it is impossible to prove such a thing… that God exists. You would be wrong. Not only can the existence of God be proven, denying the proof undermines rational thought. It is true that God does not need anyone to prove His existence; and furthermore, the Bible teaches that the existence of God is so obvious that we are without excuse for denying Him.
The first step towards the proof that God exists is to determine whether you actually believe that laws of logic exist. Logical proof would be irrelevant to someone who denies that laws of logic exist. An example of a law of logic is the law of non-contradiction. This law states, for instance, that it cannot both be true that I am standing in my kitchen and that I am not standing in my kitchen at the same time, and in the same way. To accept this is to accept the laws of logic.
Next step is the laws of mathematics. The basic operations of arithmetic are addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Laws of mathematics then, are basically descriptions of what happens within these operations (and more complex ones as well) . For example, with the law of addition we know that if you take 4 things and add them to 3 things, you end up with 7 things. This mathematical law is an accepted fact.
Next we have the law of science, which are basically descriptions of what matter does based on repeated observations, and are usually expressed in mathematical equations. An example of a law of science is the law of gravity. Using the law of gravity, we can predict how fast a heavier than air object will fall to the ground given all the factors for the equation and our repeated observations of it’s force upon an object. These laws of science are accepted to be factual laws that govern our lives and universe.
I have seldom heard anyone deny that laws of logic, mathematics, or science existing; but I have often heard people deny the existence of absolute moral laws. Whereas some laws like those that govern science, and mathematics describe reality, and how things do behave, absolute moral laws ‘prescribe’ how humans ought to, or ought not to behave.
Rape, murder, and child molestation, are two examples of absolute moral wrongs.
By reaching this stage of acknowledged facts, that laws of logic, mathematics, science, and absolute morality exist. Next we will examine what you believe about these laws. Are these laws material, or are they immaterial? In other words, are they made of matter, or are they ‘abstract’ entities? – are they physical or non-physical things?
You have to acknowledged that laws of logic, mathematics, science, and absolute morality exist and that they are not made of matter. So the next question is whether you believe they are universal or up to the individual. Does 2 + 2 = 4 only where you are, and only because you say it does, or is this a universal law?
Obviously, you have to acknowledged that laws of logic, mathematics, science, and absolute morality exist, that they are not made of matter, and that they are universal. These are laws that exist throughout the universe. The next question is whether you believe they are changing or unchanging.
You will of course have to come to the conclusion of acknowledging that immaterial, universal, unchanging laws of logic, mathematics, science, and absolute morality exist.
Universal, immaterial, unchanging laws are necessary for rational thinking to be possible. Universal, immaterial, unchanging laws cannot be accounted for if the universe was random or only material in nature.
Therefor, as religion has taught.. there are 2 types of people in this world, those who profess the truth of God’s existence and those who suppress the truth of God’s existence. The options of ‘seeking’ God, or not believing in God are unavailable. Remember that the Bible never attempts to prove the existence of God as it declares that the existence of God is so obvious that we are without excuse for not believing in Him.
The Proof that God exists is that without Him you couldn’t prove anything.
Aliens exist just as evident as God exists. As the movie the fourth encounter portrays… the alien beings are claiming to be “God”; or more accurately described by Dr. Abigal Tyler (which you must remember is an alias name to protect the identities of those involved in this case), these are beings pretending to be our God.
That’s what I was thinking exactly when I saw this movie. ANYONE can claim to be whatever they want. Always remember that no matter what one man says (or alien for that matter lol) does not make it so. If I said I was your creator and God, that does mean it’s a fact. If I spoke the same words in some ancient dialect; that wouldn’t give it any more credibility. Star children are cool. Guess what… I’m one too!
You can’t be… you didn’t type your claim in Sumarian =P
My bad. Take me to your leader!
Out of curiosity… who is your God?
YHWH
Truth That God Exists says:
You are of the mindset that God and extraterrestrials are not one and the same. However, you don’t really understand the concept of alien life forms. You have gone to some length to claim human laws of science, as known, applies to all universal realms and true alien beings that inhabit it. Your assumptions are based on human thought processes and human derived logic. Therein lies the rub. There are ET entities that have existed long before Earth was created. Do not think for one moment the entire universe lay dorment and lifeless for an estimated 15 billion years until humans came along. Consider this; Humans had not offended thier creators and became as one with them. By now, what level of wisdom and evolvement would they have attained? Without wars and killing, what would human civilization have attained in a thousand years from today, or what of a million or billion years from now? Would you even recognize them as human or attempt to comprehend their sciences or capabilities?
Dear friend, you have no clue as to the possibilities. You may apply this same senario to a civilization(s) that existed far beyond our most distant past, that later became our creators and basis for all human religions.
Jesus stated he was not of this earth and that he had sheep of of different fold. If you believe the literal interpretation in the KJV Bible, he explains he IS NOT A SPIRIT, but a living person. Read Luke 24:38-51.
If he parted from the disciples in the flesh, (into a cloud bound for heaven) he MUST have left in a physical contrivance to a physical place. You must admit, Heaven is another description for a cosmological realm or planetary system.
Taking this into serious consideration, I am not being disrepectful or blasphemous to the glory and greatness of our God. To the contrary, I am stating facts that support the magnificence of the true alien wisdom of the divinity and majesty of a true LIVING GOD and the SON, JESUS CHRIST.
So if you’re a star child… that means one of your parents boned an alien?
Yep!
It was hawt… I have the video!
Hi McLauren or anyone! Please explain to me in more detail what a “star child” is and how can I know if someone is a star child? How did you know that you were a star child? Or are you just bs’ing? THANKS!
I’m finding myself amazed with the number of people who supposely believe in God and then refuses that there are aliens. First of all, IF there is a God he is extraterrestrial, meaning he is not from earth and logically he is an alien. After that being said, you guys do use your brain for what? And then talking about God is such a stupid thing, it’s like telling that SantaClaus is real because there’s a book who tell his stories. FFS the bible is fullfilled with human stories, let alone the gods. A supreme being, is just someone with ultimate technology, that’s all!!!
It should be illegal to blatantly post the words “Actual Footage” or “Archive footage”, etc… in a movie such as this.
I saw the film, and I can tell you that there are plenty of people who will take this as gospel and walk away believing that the so called “documentary” footage was real.
I hate this kind of viral BS film strategy.
Agree with those who say they believe in God and His whole well-
populated kingdom. But that means that He IS an alien and all who dwell with Him in that kingdom.
Remember when the French President said that he was going to reveal the truth about UFOs to the world, and that we had a right to know the truth. He was silenced, for sure, probably by the paranoid gov’ts of the planet who threatened him and everyone else with a complete disintegration of civilization if
we, the common hoi polloi, should find out the truth. Oh sure, he recanted and remained silent, but the fact that he threatened disclosure, and the fact that he recanted attests to the fact that there is a TRUTH that we do not know and should.
this is odd because the french did reveal and published a document that used their secret documents and did reveal much that was hidden… (unfortunately it was translated into English though) it was the US who totally never covered the story. only one article in the Baltimore Sun written by a journalist who works for the Pacific Radio company. so please explain what you are referring to?
I missed this movie when it came out in the theaters—but was in a video store looking for some vids to play since it’s cold outside and the snow is falling–with not much else to do since one of the things I do is landscaping and that sort of business is down at the moment and at this time of year–many publications hold back on their budgets for hiring stringers since I am also a freelance journalist.
I have long had an interest in the subject of UFOs, the “alien abduction” phenomenon and other related areas—I actually have had a few instances of this myself–and I can assure you–I am not a flake by any means–in my life I have served in both the military and in civil law enforcement and have worked as well as being a journalist in recent years.
With one of my “abduction” situations—I had actual physical evidence on my body—in the form of— on the outside of my left bicep–there were four very clear markings of long, thin fingers with round pads at the ends of the fingers. I had woken up at around six AM to find these marks on my body–after I had gone into the bathroom and saw the marks in the mirror. In order to make sure I was not crazy or something–I got in my car, driving a few miles to a couple I knew who were very much believers in this subject and they very clearly saw the marks–at that point—the marks did start to burn and my friend’s girlfriend put some herbal salve on them, which helped sooth the burning sensation–my friend took some photos of the marks with his 35mm film camera.
An interesting part of that–is my friend knew that he had a roll of store bought film in the camera–but when he went to get the developed pictures–the store clerk told him the pictures had been over exposed and thusly, were no good. He saved the negatives of that roll of film the store had given him—which we later showed to the MUFON investigator-he found that this returned negative roll was from one of the very large, bulk rolls of film used by professional photographers in those days—based on the film codes found near the sprocket edges-not the sort of film that you would buy at a Walgreen’s Pharmacy or some such place!!!
I can tell you that I had tried to replicate the placement of those finger marks on my arm–but there was no way it was something self-inflicted. I was in law enforcement at that time and as such—made many arrests of those charged with crimes–I was a felony adult probation officer at that time.
The placement of those marks were in a spot as if I had been helped along or lead by “someone”–Many times when escorting someone in custody–I and another officer would walk on each side of the arrestee—placing a hand in about the same spot on that person’s upper arms to lead them along that my marks were found.
With that couple–they knew the man who was our area MUFON investigator and we did do some further investigating into this incident and an earlier, significant “lost time” incident I had in my life approximately a decade earlier than this incident.
I only speak of this because I say, I apparently have had my own up close and personal “fourth kind” experiences. I can say that in spite of the way such things get portrayed in films, books, the TV and such (always being negative)—my experiences with this were positive and not negative–should it be real–and as a rational person who does like to go with “the evidence” on such things—do have to agree that I don’t have much real hard core evidence of any such claim of my possible extraterrestrial contacts–only the fleeting ghosts of memories brought up from my own times of having under gone hypnosis trying to get to the bottom of this.
With me–once I went through such an “investigation” I was satisfied with the results of what I found–and went on. This is well over a decade ago now–and don’t think that if I ever was “taken” by aliens—that may no longer be taking place–or if it is–I don’t recall and its no big deal. It surely has not messed up my life or anything else. I do continue to hold an interest in the subject and continue to read and such on it.
If anything I gleaned from what I found in the “investigation”—I entered in some sort of agreement with the aliens early on in life, if that is what they are, in them doing this—it does serve a vital and much needed service to we humans and them. With them—in my case—they treat me with respect and don’t do anything that can hurt me. They told me they have actually done “tune ups” on my body from things that I have been exposed to in my life–like having also worked in some very toxic industrial plants, mines and such places early in my life that would have given me cancer and other diseases had they not have helped me.
I do realize that with many of the abduction cases out there—it is a totally terrifying experience for those who undergo them. I feel sorry for those who have had such experiences.
I do have my feelings on this—my sense of it is this— it is that they are beings from various times, places or dimensions doing this–or they are factions from the same places with different agendas—with some of those agendas being in the spirit of common good and with others–being of a nefarious nature. I get a sense that these factions have had their conflicts in the past but for some period of time–they have reached an uneasy peace of sorts and have come to “an understanding” and have made “accommodations” among them. Sort of—”stay out of our business here and we will stay out of yours!”
As far as this film is concerned—I found it interesting and after having watched it last night on DVD—I decided to spend some time online today to see if what was claimed about this film being true was the case—I was suspect I have to say—that it is based on some facts and that they mixed the movie’s video with “real video”—things of that nature.
I have come to the conclusion that even the supposedly “real video” is contrived since I am well familiar with video created by hand held consumer grade video cams, and police cruiser-cam video–none of that has the feel of being at all “real.”
I do feel cheated that Universal Studios and the filmmakers resorted to such trickery.
As has been noted by many—this subject does indeed deserve some serious attention in my view and it undermines real efforts to have some true studies of it done when a major motion picture purports to be taken from reality—-but it is all just a ruse and a falsehood.
Another reason that I do not focus on this subject as much as I once did is because we obviously have enough man made troubles we face these days that need to be investigated, reported upon, discussed and hopefully dealt with, without having to worry about the possibility of aliens doing this sort of thing–because the fact is this–if they are so far advanced that they can travel to this planet by whatever means they do, and they can so manipulate our thoughts, minds and bodies and seemingly violate the laws of physics such as we currently understand them—then if these beings either want to wipe us out or make slaves of us—then they could do that in a New York nanosecond and there is nothing our seemingly high technology and war machinery can do to stop them—-our “high technology” we so love compared to the level of technology they possess is not all that much qualitatively any better now than it was when they were the ones who probably fiddled with the genes of the “primitive” primates they found here way back when—to MAKE US!!
I have some other takes on the entire UFO phenomenon.
With all the cases there have been since the early 20th century—I do think that it is a case of “where there is smoke, there is fire.”
I do believe that there is definitely the possibility that Earth has been and may continually be visited with some sort of craft from other worlds–whether they are occupied by some form of extraterrestrial beings, some robots, or artificially derived “drone creatures”—I say why cannot there be such visits??—Carl Sagan certainly made a case that there has to be a very large number of worlds that some form of intelligent life with advanced technology have developed–with many of those worlds being far older than ours.
With this planet being a place of varied life—it would make a great place for manned or probe ships to make stops and take samples, to conduct studies and such—we are doing that now ourselves with our probes on Mars and elsewhere already.
If many of those ships are indeed occupied with some sort of beings—and a few have crashed with our government and others having recovered those downed ships—I could see why there would be the sorts of cover ups that are alleged to take place, because I am sure that as soon as our scientists and engineers got their hands on those ships—it was obvious the tech of those “people” far surpasses our own capabilities to a surprising degree and as such—our government and others do “know the truth.” They are not going to admit that there are beings out there with technology that makes our best stuff seem like sticks and stones in comparison and they could not do much to stop any sort of an alien incursion should one occur.
As far as the untold number of UFO sightings over the years–it is no doubt the case that many reasonable and sober people have seen things they have misidentified or misinterpreted—but then again–many have seen truly unidentifiable things in the sky that it is reasonable to think they are “flying saucers” since that is what they are more or less–either ones from elsewhere or things along those lines that our government is probably developing thanks to having reverse engineered the craft that have been purported to have crashed over the years. Many of those aircraft sightings are also of having seen test flights of more conventional aircraft like the stealth fighters, bombers and unmanned drones like Global Hawk and Predator.
It is really insulting that the disinformation has been so effective that just about every UFO sighting gets poo-pooed as things like “Swamp gas” or Plasma balls.
I have gone fishing and hunting for years in swamps from Ohio to the deep south and I have never once seen anything like “swamp gas” nor have I ever seen ball lightning, plasma balls or anything of that sort—have any of you????
Shit like that insults the intelligence!!!
It may be one thing for a person who is a non-pilot to see something in the sky and misidentify it–but when there are many cases of military and civilian pilots who observe some sort of flying craft doing things like traveling at incredibly high speeds, then come to an almost instant hover for a few moments, then in an instant shoot off 180 degrees from the way it was going–attaining a speed of Mach 6 or greater in no time–something that our aircraft surely cannot do and even if we could—there would have to be some sort of Star Trek like “internal dampening system” to counter the massive “G” forces that anything inside such a craft would be encountering when performing moves like those.
You do have to hand it to the forces of disinformation in the case of things like UFOs, ETs and the like—-it is marginalized by most of the media and by most people–its kind of like there was a Pavlovian attempt to make most people just shrug their heads and go “not that UFO non-sense” when it comes to such things—the efforts to do this have been very effective.
At newspapers and TV news operations—-editors like to see if the witnesses have seen “little green men” –which even if you want to diss all of this, make light of it and short change the topic–they should at least be up enough on the world of UFOs and such to know that people don’t talk about little green men anymore—that was from like back in the 1950s and ’60s–the talk for decades now have been on “the grays.”
They could at least have updated the “talking points memos” of UFO debunking about supposed ETs being mostly gray and not green!! LOL
I do say though—while it is hard to get one’s mind around the whole concept of UFOs, ETs and the like–the fact is to totally and always dismiss the possibility of their existence is just as ignorant a thing to do as it is for those who believe all kinds of crazy things about this whole phenomenon, because there is actually a reasonable degree of probability that we do indeed get visited by those from “alien worlds.”
yeah i dont know what to say. “We only use less than a tenth of our brain”, is what i was told and some people r beyond crazy only using that. The reason why I search for any truth in anything is simply because I’d regret not lookin. One of my wierdest moments would be when i was trying to sleep i look at the courner of my room and i fell asleep (i hope). i awoke facing the same position when a creature appeared and told me i was the son of the devil then evaporated…. Yea i wish i made this up. i didnt enjoy using creature, i probably should have used a sentient being. i would have sound smart. I try to avoid not getting sleep, i get incredibly paranoid. I know ur thinking im crazy, cus im thinking it too. I also want to note that instead of freaking looking for the damnid aliens and other planets why dont we find everthing on earth before we venture out. I read this thing on the annunaki or anannuki or whatever and there are many different things about them. just google sumerian anything and there bound to pop up. i wasted hours reading that to find out from some wako that these aliens were bio engeneering douches that pretty much made us, left, came back, were disgusted and created a flood to whipe us out, then enslaved us, look im crazy but this is crazier. Again for the conspiracies, people are realatively stupid or at least thats what bildaburge believes. we must always be controled we must be stupid. I would prefer the truth but since most people can’t handle it we’re all screwed. Unless anyone is willing to go through the steps to gain political power, get in volved in that cia fbi and secret agent bs just to probably die before you find ur answers and on top of that ur going to be judged by god and sent to hell for being so corrupt. Is anyone following my random chain of thoughts?
