Timur Bekmambetov, director of Wanted, Night Watch, Day Watch, and the upcoming Wanted 2, is producing a Russian film titled Black Lightning that is being marketed as the Russian response to Transformers and The Dark Knight. It looks pretty damn cool for a film made on a budget of $8M.
Black Lightning follows a Moscow student who discovers a used Russian car that he learns can fly and transform, and as a result he becomes a super hero. The trailer is in Russian but you'll get the picture that with some English dubbing this film will be a cool watch.
