‘Battlestar Galactica’ Music Composer Bear McCreary’s Latest Gig is ‘Trauma’

Jamie Bamber's (Battlestar Galactica) sister, Anastasia Griffith, stars in 'Trauma'

Bear McCreary has firmly established himself as one of the best, if not the best, music composer in television. If you're wondering what TV Show's he's working on at the moment, you might like to tune in to NBC's Trauma.

Trauma is a new "action series disguised as a medical drama" that focuses on first responder paramedics in San Francisco. Personally, I love Bear McCreary's music but I have no love for crime and medical shows, so I haven't seen Trauma and probably never will. I've also heard the show is not doing so well and may not get a second season, so that adds to my "I dont' give a rats about it" (other than the music) factor.

I'd almost be willing to tune in to check out Jamie Bamber's (Apollo in Battlestar Galactica) sister, Anastasia Griffith, who is one of the stars. That combined with a desire to hear Bear's Trauma score edges me close, but alas for Trauma, not really close enough so for the moment I intend to wait and see if the score gets a CD. Still, if unlike me you're not averse to medical and cop shows, and you want to hear Bear's music, you'll have to check it out on NBC on Monday nights.

Fortunately Trauma isn't the only music on Bear's list. Next year, you'll also hear him in the BSG prequel Caprica as well as Fox's new action series Human Target. That's not where his schedule ends though.

He's performed a huge score for the Capcom game Dark Void and his music, as you'd expect, can be heard in the upcoming Battlestar Galactica: The Plan DVD movie. Oh yeah, Eureka is his too.
