Rachel McAdams

Mania are reporting inside sources have told them that Spider-Man 4 will be a two-villain movie, and that one of those villains with be Felicia Hardy, aka the Black Cat. They're also reporting that Rachel McAdams, who starred in the recent The Time Traveler's Wife and the upcoming Sherlock Holmes, is in negotiations for the role.

In the Marvel Universe Felicia Hardy is the daughter of a world renowned cat burglar who gets raped, and who sets about becoming an ass-kicker as a means to enable her to hunt and kill her rapist. He, however, dies before she gets the chance, leading her to pursue a different course, one that sees her become a cat burglar like her father. Her first mission as the Black Cat is an attempt to break her father out of prison, during which she meets Spider-Man for the first time and finds herself infatuated with him. In time she feels like she's his inferior, leading ther to seek a way to gain real superpowers, which she does, but with side effects. Tobey Maguire (Peter Parker / Spider-Man), Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane Watson) and Dylan Baker (Dr. Kurt Connors) are all confirmed to have signed on to reprise their original roles.

Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters May 5, 2011.
