Jake Gyllenhaal in Talks to Star in ‘Source Code’, the Next Film from ‘Moon’ Director Duncan Jones
Posted by Monkey 1 in: MoviesIt has been a difficult task trying to find out what Moon director Duncan Jones' next film will be. First it was rumored to be underwater flick Escape from the Deep, then it was (seemingly) confirmed that his next film would be Mute, a Blade Runner style sci-fi epic.
Now it seems neither of those films will be next, with the news surfacing that Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in Source Code, a new sci-fi film to be helmed by Duncan Jones.
Jones has also confirmed that Source Code will be his next film via Twitter:
For those asking, Mute still in the plans, just slightly delayed. It's a hard sell.. whereas Source Code came with an offer hard to refuse.
Semi-spoilery synopsis: Source Code tells the Groundhog-style story of Colter (possibly Jake Gyllenhaal), a soldier who wakes up in the body of a commuter with no recollection of how he got there. Soon he discovers a bomb on the train which detonates, killing him and everyone else. He then wakes to find that he is actually in a simulator, trying to solve the mystery of the train bomb. The story follows him as he repeats his experience, only to find that the mystery goes further than he expected, and that the possibility exists that the simulation may in fact enable him to change history.
Word is Source Code is set to shoot early in 2010
