Well it's about time! In an interview with SciFiPulse.net, Tamzin Outhwaite talked about Paradox and what viewers can expect from her character.Tamzin-Outhwaite-i156729-small I wish her well with the new series that launched November 25 on BBC One. Juggling motherhood and a hot new tv series isn't a walk in the park but it looks like Tamzin is up to the task!

lost_thefinalseasonFinally, the sixth and final season of "Lost" arrived and will kick-off with a special all-night event on Tuesday, February 2. Get the popcorn ready, get the PVR serviced and take the phone off the hook. First, a recap special will kick off the night from 8:00-9:00 p.m. eastern time, followed by the much anticipated two-hour premiere from 9:00-11:00 p.m. After that, Tuesday nights will have meaning again as our lost, then found then lost again castaways return to their regular time slot on February 9th at 9pm ET

I won't bother putting the trailer up since it actually doesn't reveal or show anything about the new season. Word has it that there is so much revealed in the first few scenes of the new season that the producers have convinced ABC to NOT SHOW A SINGLE FRAME before the new season airs. No promo scenes, no photos, zip diddley! The suspense builds!

Alana De La Garza and some other cast members. But I'm not biased...;) Luv ya Alana!

Alana De La Garza and some other cast members. But I'm not biased...;) Luv ya Alana!

I'll save the topic of how much of a scandal a celebrity's sexual dalliances really are for another post. OK, who am I kidding, it'd be a pretty short post.

For THIS post, I'll express the hope that Dick Wolf and Co. can make the biggest NON-story of the year even remotely more interesting than the real thing was. Shouldn't be too hard.

The Daily Show's Canadian funny girl Samantha Bee will play the celebrity and I hope they let her unleash at least a little bit of that great wry wit that I love so much about her. Oh and just to keep things interesting, Samanatha's character will apparently be having her affairs with other women in her office.

Shooting begins next week and plans are for it to air in January.

taylorswift_cma"Taylor Swift's clean sweep of the Country Music Assn. Awards helped the broadcast reach its biggest audience in four years, according to preliminary figures released on Thursday.

The three-hour show averaged 16.8 million viewers for ABC on Wednesday, up from 15.9 million last year. It marks the highest score since 2005, when 17.7 million people tuned in to the CBS broadcast."

I have to admit, I'm not what you'd call a country music fan but it has changed so much over the years and several artists have been winning me over including Ms. Swift.  I'm not ready to sit through a whole CM awards show yet mind you but find it easy to be happy for Taylor and so many other new country artists. Way to go Taylor!

Stargate Universe S02E06 'Water' follows the crew of Destiny as they struggle to deal with water supply levels that are dropping way too fast with seemingly no explanation.

To combat the situation, Colonel Young and Lt.Scott don spacesuits and go through the Stargate to an ice world to try to collect ice composed of drinkable water to replenish supplies.

After suspecting members of the crew, those on board soon discover the culprit. It seems the alien entity Lt.Scott encountered on the desert planet in S02E03 'Air' is on the ship and it wants water - lots of it.

I enjoyed this episode, as I have every single SGU episode to date. Some people aren't so happy claiming that the series is suffering from "problem of the week" syndrome, but I don't see how serving up a weekly challenge as part of the ongoing wider story arc is any different than any other series on television.

The "problem of the week" doesn't bother me one bit, so long as it fits into the wider story arc, and it's way too early to tell where the alien entity from 'Air' and 'Water' fits into the wider story arc. It's a creature that has an insatiable appetite for water, and they just gave it plenty of frozen water, so who knows what the ramifications will be.

Stargate Universe S01E05 Light

Stargate Universe continues to divide Stargate fans, but I'll never comprehend why. Don't try to explain it to me either because if you don't like it, go tell someone who cares. Or better yet, keep your opinion to yourself.

Since this is my site, I can however force my opinion down your throat (well, as far as you being willing to read it will allow). And here it is in no uncertain terms:

Stargate Universe is exceptional television.

Stargate Universe is proving to be an original take on the Stargate franchise that, to my mind, has finally done away with the Star Trek style adventure of the hour by seamlessly melding the individuality of each episode into the ongoing whole. It's also a pleasure to see more than a handful of episodes flow by without one solitary medieval village coming into the equation.

Regarding my last comment, I should clarify. I'm a big fan of both Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis, a big fan. I've been watching Stargate since the premiere of the original movie and own all the DVD's. But at times both series had their moments of tiresome and, at other times, both series served up some absolutely terrible episodes. So far, and yes, I understand that it's early days, Stargate Universe has not.

Stargate Universe S01E04 'Darkness' aired more than a week ago but I never wrote a thing about it. It's a little late now, actually no it isn't, but I'll keep the blurb short just the same.

Let me just say 'Darkness' was another excellent episode of what is now one of the best series currently on television. Essentially the episode follows on from last weeks 'Air' and takes its story thread beautifully into the next episode, S01E05 'Light'.

In a nutshell, 'Darkness' follows the drama that unfolds as Destiny's systems begin to fail one by one as the ship runs out of power. Dr. Rush begins to freak out through a combination of lack of sleep and a giant ego (which may or may not be misplaced), while a power struggle begins to unfold between Colonel Young and Colonel Telford, and between what seems to be a separating faction of crew members.

As the drama's unfold, the entire crew must face the situation in darkness as all power on the ship fades away.

Anyway, it's a great episode that slows down the pace a little from the first three episodes, but is nonetheless worth watching.

I give it 10 monkeys:

If you haven't seen it, there's a link to watch it on demand at the end of this article.  Otherwise, enjoy the images after the jump.

Tom Welling teasing me that he might end Chris Gauthier's reign on Smallville

Tom Welling teasing me that he might end Chris Gauthier's reign on Smallville

The first three episodes of Smallville's season 9 have been really good.  I've enjoyed all of them alot, so much so that I was really looking forward to Echo.  So perhaps it was my higher than usual expectation that made the episode worse than it actually was. Nah, I'm just being nice. Reality is this episode sucked, pure and simple.

First, let me get the good parts of the episode out of the way.  The hostage situation at the beginning was pretty cool, even if short. Ok, that's the good bits taken care of.  Now to the rest of the episode.

I'm going to guess and think that the title of 'Echo' had something to do with Clark gaining the extra temporary power of telepathy (hearing echo's of other people's thoughts?), but that was never clearly explained.  It's called 'Echo', that's all you need to know.

Fringe S02E04 'Momentum Deferred'

Lance Reddick (Agent Phillip Broyles) keeps a serious face whilst delivering the best one liner in a TV Show this week

Remember way back when Terminator 2: Judgment Day was coming out and how much people were peaking out over the effects in the scene where the T-1000 liquid metal Terminator walks out of the fire?  If you could wind back the clock and put last week's episode of Fringe on instead of Terminator 2, the final scene in Fringe would have had a similar kind of impact, albeit in a The Thing style rather than a shiny liquid metal kind of way.

I won't say anymore to protect those of you who haven't yet seen it from spoilers.  I'll simply add it was horrific but meaningful, and another example of why Fringe is renowned for its visual effects.

Heroes S04E05 Hysterical Blindness starts the redemption

Hayden Panettiere in Heroes S04E05 Hysterical Blindness

Okay I'm just going to come right out and say it.  The latest episode of Heroes, S04E05 'Hysterical Blindness', was pretty good and easily the best episode so far this season.

All the talk about that lesbian kiss between actress Madeline Zima and Hayden Panettiere left me certain this was going to be another awful episode with a moment of girl-on-girl shock value action to try and redeem itself, but that wasn't the case.  The kiss was portrayed in a kind of fitting way, and it was fleeting enough that there wasn't any time to really dwell on it.  Most of all, the guesswork the writers have thrown in about Zima's character Gretchen is beginning to shine.  Is she a good gal, or a bad? I have no idea, and that's good.
