A killer comedy from the director of Bend It Like Beckham. I loved that film so am truly looking forward to this one!
With a cast featuring the best of British comedy talent, It's A Wonderful Afterlife tells the story of a British-Asian mother whose obsession with marrying off her daughter has hilarious results.
As each potential suitor meets a sticky end, in a series of curry-themed murders, policemen Mark Addy (The Full Monty) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes) are brought in to investigate...

OK, so my Christmas is officially complete! Here is the first trailer for the eagerly anticipated Iron Man II. Mickey Rourke's re-invention continues which goes to show that bad plastic surgery doesn't have to stand in the way of a movie career. Truth be told, he does bring something special to most roles he plays so, go Mickey!
"Iron Man 2" hits theaters May 7. 2010. Robert Downey Jr. is back as billionaire industrialist Tony Stark, aka the super hero Iron Man in this sequel to the 2008 blockbuster. RDJ, Paltrow, Cheadle and Rockwell are joined by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Mickey Rourke as Whiplash. Jon Favreau once again takes up the directorial reins for Marvel's armored avenger.
"Iron Man 2" is one of a continuing slate of films being produced by Marvel Studios based on the Marvel characters, including "Thor" on May 20, 2011, "The First Avenger: Captain America" on July 22, 2011 and "The Avengers" on May 4, 2012.
All my faves are here - Jackson, Cheadle, Paltrow, Downey and of course, The Suit(s)! Forget Christmas, I can't wait for May 2010!
God complex anyone? Clash of the Titans looks like it will be one of the movies to watch in 2010 and the latest trailer is here! I've always been a fan of greek mythology so am looking forward to this one.
Opening March 26, 2010, this remake of the Laurence Olivier / Harry Hamlin film from 1981, the new cast includes Sam Worthington as Perseus, Gemma Arterton as Io, Liam Neeson as Zeus and Ralph Fiennes as Hades and it looks like among other tings, costumes will be the big spectacle here
According to the details, this is the ultimate struggle for power that pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on Earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

She's hot and her star is on the rise since the successful debut of Legend of the Seeker. The lovely Tabrett Bethell stars in an indie thriller called 'The Clinic'
The Clinic is the story of expectant mother Beth Church, drugged and abducted from a desolate outback motel. The year is 1979, many years before the advent of DNA. Beth wakens in an ice bath in an abandoned abattoir. Her baby has been removed from her. After searching for a way out she is found by three other young women all in the same predicament.
There is also one other young woman in the same predicament, Beth and the other three women soon discover that it is everyone for themselves as they find themselves in a deadly game of survival.
QuietEarth.us describes the film as part Vanishing, part Saw, and thinks the film looks like it'll bring a much needed twist to the typical backwoods horror genre. It's directed by first timer James Rabbitts, The Clinic also stars Andy Whitfield (Spartacus: Blood and Sand) and Clare Bowen
Here's to you Tabrett. Hope to see more of you in the future!

The new teaser for Grown Ups is here! Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Kevin James join Adam Sandler as five old high-school buddies who, reunited by the death of their old basketball coach, decide to spend a Fourth of July weekend at the lakeside house where they celebrated their championship win 30 years earlier. Hmmm, wait, I think I've seen this scenario before - think The Big Chill. Interesting ensemble though and I have high hopes for some solid laughs here - in spite of the tiringly predictable presence of un-funnyman Rob Schneider. I'm just not a fan of that guy at all.
The trailer also shows Salma Hayek, Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph as the wives - rough life boys!
The Release date is Friday 16 July, 2010
From Jason Reitman, the Oscar® nominated director of “Juno,” comes a comedy called “Up in the Air” starring Oscar® winner George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and just after he’s met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.
Finally, a movie for the frequent fliers among us - I'm surprised it took this long!! I wonder how big a house ten million miles would buy?

The first humorous teaser trailer for director Matthew Vaughn's highly anticipated Kick-Ass has arrived.
Kick Ass is based on the comic book of the same name that follows Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who lives alone with his father. Dave’s life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming, however one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training. Before long he is joined by three more would-be superheroes.
Test screenings for this film have gathered rave reviews.
You can check out the Kick-Ass character posters here.
Expect it April 16, 2010.
Director William Eubank's independent film Love stars Gunner Wright (The Losers / G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) as Astronaut Lee Miller who, after losing contact with Earth and becoming stranded alone in orbit on the International Space Station, struggles to remain sane as life support fades.
Watch the trailer which is kind of trippy, but paints a picture that Love could be quite thematically similar to Duncan Jones' Moon in that the film explores the fundamental condition of being human as a result of isolation.
Unfortunately I don't know about any release details for this flick which doesn't appear to be associated to any studio yet and neither could I find reference to it on the IMDB. Nonetheless it looks like one to watch out for.
